Introduction
This article explains how you can accept and view your stock certificates for each company in which you have invested. Your electronic stock certificate(s) (once issued) are stored in your Data Room.
Accepting Stock Certificates
When a company has issued you equity, you will receive an email indicating you have a new document to sign and accept. Depending on the type of equity being issued and your role in the company may change how this process behaves. For example, if you have existing stock in a company that has recently onboarded onto Fidelity Private Shares, some of the steps below may be skipped. This example shows the process of accepting a new stock restriction agreement (including the stock certificate) through the platform.
- Click the Log In button in the email. Note if you do not have an account setup yet, you will be prompted to create a new account. The email will look similar to this example:
- You will be prompted to confirm your information.
- Review the documents and then click to Sign Documents electronically.
- If applicable, upload your proof of stock purchase check to confirm the company is in receipt of your payment.
- Once accepted, you will see a confirmation with links to the executed documents located in the Data Room.
Viewing Stock Certificates
Your stock certificates, as well as other documents, are available for view from the Data Room. When you log into the platform, on your Workspace click on My Documents.
NOTE: if you have roles in the company other than an investor or stockholder, you'll want to be sure you have selected My Workspace or Investment Workspace and not Company Workspace.
In the Data Room, you can either use the search bar or click into the Stock folder. Click on the name of the file to open the document preview. A PDF copy can be downloaded from this view. See these articles for more information about viewing your equity, using My Workspace, and viewing your documents.
