Introduction
If you are in the midst of an equity financing on our platform, and an investor is unable to sign documents through the Equity Financing workflow, you will have an opportunity to create a standalone signature page for that person or entity. This article will explain the steps for creating such a signature page and uploading the signed version at the end of the financing.
How To Create a Standalone Signature Page
Standalone signature pages can be created at the Monitor Closing Steps page in the Equity Financing workflow. By clicking on the three-bar menu to the right of the investor's name who will be signing on paper, you will be presented with the options to Upload Signature Pages or Restart Signing Flow.
- Click Upload Signature Pages from the dropdown menu. This will also discontinue the electronic signing process for that person or entity so that they do not inadvertently sign the documents twice.
- Confirm that you want to continue. Once you have confirmed that this is the action that you would like to take, you will be able to download all of the prepared signature pages for each document related to that specific investor.
A downloaded signature page will include only the signature block for that investor, as shown below.
- Once the investor has signed, you will re-upload this signature page by clicking the Upload Signature Page button.
- After you have uploaded all of the signature pages related to that investor, you will be able to continue through the workflow by clicking Continue. The workflow will automatically redirect you to the Monitor Closing Steps page, wherein you will be able to track the progress of the remaining signatures associated with this Equity Financing process.
Note that, if you accidentally select the Upload Signature Page option and your investor then decides to sign through the platform, you can undo this action.
To reset the signing process for this investor, you can click the three-bar menu again and click the Restart Signing Flow button from the dropdown menu.
This will reset the signing status to Pending and send a notification to your investor asking them to log in and finish signing the appropriate documents on the platform.
