Welcome email
Companies that use Fidelity Private Shares can use the platform to send job offers and the necessary new hire paperwork. You can review your offer, confirm your information, disclose any existing IP, and sign all of your documents through Fidelity Private Shares.
When a company sends a job offer, you will receive an email similar to the one below. To get started, click on Log In.
Create/link your Fidelity account
You will use a Fidelity.com account to log in to Fidelity Private Shares. If you already have an existing Fidelity account (such as a 401(K), retirement, or brokerage account), you can link your existing login to access Fidelity Private Shares. Otherwise, you can create a new account. For more information, see this article on the Fidelity Log In Credentials.
Accepting your offer
Review Documents
Once you have created your account and have logged in, you will be prompted to review and sign your employee documents. If this screen does not open automatically, there will be a link in the right side of the workspace in the My Tasks section.
A summary of your offer will display. If your offer is set to expire, you will see the expiration date. Click Continue when you are ready to proceed.
Provide Address
If you have not yet confirmed your address, you will be prompted to do so.
Disclose IP
If you have any existing patents or prior inventions, you can list them here. If you have previously discussed your IP with the company, they may have provided a list that you can review. If this is not applicable to you, you can move past this step.
Sign Documents
The final step is to electronically sign your new employee documents.
NOTE: if this is your first time signing a document, you will be prompted to choose how you want your signature to display on documents you sign. Select the signature style you like, and then Click Confirm & Sign to apply your signature to the document. You can adjust your signature style from your profile.
Next Steps
Your employee documents have now been signed and can be accessed at any time from the Data Room. If you provided an IP during the workflow, the company will be prompted to review your contributions on your end.
You can now complete any HR forms that the company has set up in their HR Settings (such as the W-4 and I-9, EEO Survey, or benefits enrollment forms). Click on Start New Workflow from your workspace to get started.
If you have received an equity grant as part of your employment, follow the steps here on how to accept an option grant. Once granted, this article has resources on viewing your equity. For more resources, see our Fidelity Private Shares for Employees category in our Support Center.
